Husker Football

I am a big husker fan just like many other Nebraskans. I count down the days until football season begings and I am part of the group who cheers, curses, and almost dies of a heart attack every week that they play. That's what true fans do. What I don't like about husker football is how high it ranks on peoples priority list. Take my uncle for example my aunt was in the hospital for two days with a kidney infection and she was finally relased on a saturday but he wouldn't come and pick her up until the game was over. So she had to sit and wait for almost five hours before she could finally go home. What could be more important picking your wife up from the hospital and only missing maybe a quarter of the game. Instead he was an ass and stayed home so that he didn't miss one second. If it were me my wife wouldn't be at the hospital alone I would be there with her. And if I cared that much about the game, the hospital has plenty of TV's that would have it on and there is always the radio. I have done things I shouldn't in order to watch the game. Like when Nebraska played Oklahoma in 2001 and it was a #1 vs.#2 match up. I told my boss at Burger King that I couldn't come in because I had to take the ACT. It was an awsome game and Eric Crouch had an unbelieveable flee flicker pass for a touchdown that is going to be in husker highlight reels forever. It was worth missing out on my $30 that I would have made that afternoon at BK. I would never make my wife wait at the hospital just so that I could watch a game on TV.
